Sometimes, I wonder if we're alone in the universe. I kind of hope that we are, but if there is another planet with life on it, I don't think we exactly have to worry about an impending invasion. Earth is based on carbon-based life forms, right? Which means that on other planets where carbon isn't as abundant, silicon would be the next best choice for the construction of a life-form. Additionally, gravity would be far greater on our planet than on theirs. Those poor little aliens wouldn't stand a chance against us. It's like when you go deep-sea diving, and you have to wear one of those pressure suits. Earth's pressure could easily crush an alien from the inside out, like if a balloon popping. Another thing, aliens would be far taller than us, given that their gravity is significantly lower. However, that would also reduce their density, which means that we would basically be fighting against beings that are made of something around the consistency of styrofoam. Even the weakest among us could take on a small army of thus beings. Honestly, I would pity them, considering they would come to a planet that has around 200 degree differences in temperature, tornadoes, volcanoes, and even floods. They wouldn't stand a chance on our planet. If they are out there, it would be within their best interest to avoid Earth at all costs.
